Many years ago when I first began this journey I had a design in mind that for a change I committed to paper!
Well over the years sketchbooks get lost, bits of paper fade and again get lost… but, every so often a lost idea returns…
Enter The Lost model, my mash up of a Tele Thinline, my own signature ‘Thickline’ model and a Gibson 157 (well the horn anyway!)
Hollow body around a neck and heel block. Korina sides, a flamed maple internally braced, book-matched top and a locally sourced spalted sycamore back from Suffolk.
Traditional Canadian rock maple neck on a 9.5 inch radius, rosewood fretboard with mother of pearl fret markers, full nitro lacquered topcoat, hand relic’d in a subtle but age appropriate way.
Fender cut down ashtray bridge, and powered by a stunning hand wound and handmade Humbucker sized P90 from the legendary Thomas Nilsen and an always great Bareknuckle pickups hand wound ‘True Grit’ tele pickup in the bridge. CTS pots, vintage PIO tone cap, neutrik jack and switchcraft selector switch. Hand cast selector skull detail and 70s style ‘hifi’ knobs finish off this stunning one of a kind instrument.

I never imagined I would get to make 100 guitars… but here we are…
so, to celebrate this fact I thought I would go against the grain for what Im known for…
So I give to you… The DeVille, in my mind I envisaged the bastard offspring of a 335 and a Jaguar… and here it is!
OK so not massively against the grain, it’s still a Punk Rock weapon if you want it to be… but if you want refined classic it can do that role equally well! So… what do you get… from a completely hand made guitar…
Hollow African walnut body with neck and hollow heel block. Spalted Suffolk Sycamore top, double bound in Abalone binding.
Roasted Flame maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard, mother of pearl fret markers, Satin Grover Imperial Tuners, Stunning ‘road worn’ nitrocellulose finish in the following colours only;
AmberBurst
NaturalBurst
TobaccoBurst
Black Sparkle
Candy Apple Red
Aged Vintage White
and… with age appropriate checking and wear all over. Thinline style sound hole, and powered by a set of hand wound ‘Monty’s Underpin PAF Humbuckers’, warm, rich and incredibly articulate. As they say at Monty’s…
“As much as we love our standard PAF, sometimes we appreciate a different flavor of vintage Gibson patent applied for awesomeness. These truly are a different beast from a regular PAF, they not only sound different, but they also react differently to your picking attack and with different gain stages, hitting the front end with a softer bloom.”
for full details see Monty’s website.
CTS pots, genuine NOS Mullard ‘mustard’ capacitors, switchcraft jack and selector switch, Anomaly pickup surrounds, hand relic’d nickel roller bridge and American Imperial Jag style adjustable trem with med hard spring. Hand relic’d throughout.

Inside
My world
Here at Blind Johns Guitars we like the misfits, the odd ones, the ones that don’t fit in…
I have a passion for creating handcrafted guitars within the reach of everyone, fuelled by an obsession with playability and aesthetics. Let’s be honest we can’t all afford a classic ‘57 (insert dream guitar choice here) and even if we could, there wouldn’t be enough of them anyway! Every instrument I build is a blend of artistry and precision, reflecting the spirit of Fullerton and Kalamazoo. My own journey has been rocky, a myriad of highs and lows, all shaped by a deep love of blues, punk and rock n roll inspired by legendary artists. I live to sweat the details, ensuring every guitar embodies the ‘lived in’ feel of a vintage instrument while showcasing the energy of blues, punk and good old fashioned Rock n Roll!
From my head to my hands to my workshop. The creative process is where my passion thrives… and I am committed to crafting instruments that inspire like those played by the legends.
Each guitar in a unique piece of art, but also a workhorse, a tool, built to inspire and evoke the timeless energy of musics greatest moments…your moments.
Or as my motto says…
